Start with the period you need
A calendar does not have to begin in January. For an August–July school-year planner, choose a start date in August and twelve months. Monthly layouts begin on the first day of the selected month. Weekly and daily planners use both start and end dates and support up to 366 days. School holidays are not supplied automatically; add the dates that apply to your school.
Match the layout to the job
- One-page calendar: a year with its selected date details, with no appendix.
- Monthly: room for a month’s plans and notes.
- Weekly or daily: appointments and detailed schedules.
- Family: up to six columns for household members.
- Multi-month: adjacent months for projects and longer plans.
Choose paper size and orientation, then inspect the PDF preview. If a one-page design is too dense, use larger paper or reduce the details; the creator reports overcrowding instead of silently dropping entries.
Reuse and share deliberately
Give the setup a name such as “Family planner 2027” and save it as a template. A next-year copy advances its dates and year text without moving personal events. Repeating events continue to use their existing recurrence rules. Templates, events and the logo are included in Calendar’s local JSON backup.
Copy a print-setup link to share layout and holiday choices. Titles, subtitles and family names require an explicit opt-in; events and logos never enter that link. A recipient opens it with their personal layers off. Review exported PDFs before sharing them: a downloaded document may contain personal content when you enabled it in your own designer.
